34 years of innovation
In the bakery industry thousands of years ago, humanity used wheat as a primary and strategic source of nutrition. Ancient Egyptian pharaohs were the first to discover yeast in bread-making and paid great attention to wheat, flour, and baking. They called their salary ‘bread,’ as working meant earning bread. Archaeology shows that ancient Chinese used wheat flour in various applications more than 4,500 years ago.
With one eye on our legacy and the other on the future, we have invested over 20 years of experience in the bakery industry, from wheat farms to the finished loaf of bread and more than 34 years in enzyme fermentation and strain technology with multinational experts worldwide, to launch VTR&Beyond, our new professional project for bakery enzymes and flour improvement.
MILESTONES
Our History
Over the past 34 years, VTR Biotech has evolved into a global biotechnology leader, employing a diverse team of over 1,100 people across 19 subsidiaries and serving customers in more than 60 countries.
1991
VTR Biotech was founded in 1991, marked the beginning of China's feed enzyme preparation industry.
1997
In 1997, VTR Biotech completed its first production base in Zhuhai, China.
2008
In 2008, the Inner Mongolia VTR Biotech was established to strengthen its market presence in both northern and southern mainland China.
2014
In 2014, VTR Biotech became the first listed biological enzyme preparations company in China.
2015
In 2015, We established The Postdoctoral Research Station, and in November, the company acquired Hunan Hongying, expanding into food, energy, textile, and other industries.
2016-2018
Between 2016 and 2018, VTR Biotech established its R&D and industry-research base, gained national recognition, acquired Changsha World-Way, launched a smart factory, and expanded into Europe.
2019
In 2019, VTR Biotech was recognized as a National Intellectual Property Advantage Enterprise.
2022
In 2022, restructured into three core segments and established an Australian subsidiary.
2025
Present
Started a professional project on bakery enzymes and wheat flour improvement in cooperation with Beyond Solutions Berlin, Germany.
